Since 2022 we operate the project space CPR² in Brooklyn, building a community through exhibitions and public events.

MANAGENENT

  • DIRECTOR AND FOUNDER

    Carmen Ferreyra is an independent curator and art producer based in Brooklyn, NY. She completed her MA in Critical and Curatorial Studies in Modern Art at Columbia University in 2013, and in 2010 earned a BA in Art History and French also from Columbia University. Ferreyra is lecturer of Contemporary Latin American Art at the School of Visual Arts (2018-) and member of Columbia Venture Community (2020-). She was the Special Projects Coordinator for the Armory Show (2019), Director of Special Programs for the Bienal de las Fronteras in Matamoros, Mexico (2014-2015), and the Director of UNTITLED. Art Fair in Miami Beach, Florida (2014). She was the manager of Pinta Art Show in London and New York (2007-2013) and acquisition advisor for Mundus Novus Latin American Art Collection (2010-2013). Additionally, she served as editor at Interventions, Columbia University Curatorial Journal from 2012-2013. Ferreyra has conducted research for several institutions, including the Study Center at the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum in New York, the Whitney Museum of American Art, El Museo del Barrio and the Colección Patricia Phelps de Cisneros in New York, between others.

  • DIRECTOR, EUROPE

    Susanne Ewerlöf is currently the curator at Tensta Konsthall in Stockholm, Sweden and has recently ended a temporary position as a Project Manager at Stockholm Region working with the project “Konsväxlingar”, temporary projects in the Subway. She was the Program Manager for the three-day workshop Trans-Atlantic Meeting on Nationalism(s) organized as a part of CPR 2019: Navigating the (Art)World in New York City as well as CPR 2017: The Baltic Sea (Sweden, Norway and Denmark). As the Founder and previous Artistic Director of the self-organized platform Verkstad Konsthall in Norrkoping, Sweden, Ewerlöf is very dedicated to site-specific projects where artists can interact with a local context. This interest in methodology together with research around memory, nationalism, and places narrows her curatorial focus. She has also explored fiction (“A Scenario” at Verkstad Konsthall 2021 and “If these walls could talk” at Fullersta Gård Art Centre 2019) and vision (“If Seeing is Believing” at Fullersta Gård Art Centre 2017-2018) in recent exhibition projects. She holds an MRes degree in Curatorial/Knowledge from the Department of Visual Cultures at Goldsmith University, an MA degree in Curating from Stockholm University and BA and MA degrees in Cultural Production from Linköping University.

  • CURATOR MALMÖ

    Sara Rossling is a curator and writer based between Malmö and Stockholm, currently leading a public art project along the regional walking trail Skåneleden in the South of Sweden. Her recent exhibitions and commissions include the public art exhibition Konstväxlingar at Stockholm Metro stations Skanstull and Odenplan 2020-2021; Solo exhibition Bland dessa uråldriga spiror with Olle Norås, at gallerist Eva Livijn, Stockholm 2020; solo exhibition UNDER SKIN with Marcia Kure Rutiga Golvet at Royal Institute of Art 2019; the group exhibition OFF WITH THEIR HEADS! / !SDAEH RIEHT HTIW FFO curated with Power Ekroth, at OFF BIENNALE, Cairo 2018. During 2020 she worked as project manager at Iaspis/Swedish Arts Grants Committee running the public program Iaspis Open Studios. In 2019 she worked at the Public Art Agency as curator assistant and producer with their public program and conferences and co-curated the symposium Making Matters Visible in January 2020. In 2018-2019 she worked as exhibition producer at the Royal Institute of Art, producing graduation shows and exhibitions with Tarek Atoui & Composing/Public/Space. She has an MA in Curating Art, International Master’s Programme, and a BA in Art History, both from Stockholm University. Currently, she is pursuing post-master studies Decolonizing Architecture, at the Royal Institute of Art. Rossling is the chairperson of the Nordic Art Association (NKF), the Swedish section in Stockholm.

  • CURATOR NEW YORK

    Natalia Viera Salgado is a Puerto Rican curator and curatorial consultant based in New York City. She is also the founder of :Pública Espacio Cultural, an independent art space in Santurce, Puerto Rico. Her art historical research focuses on contemporary art concerning decolonial practices, architecture, social and environmental justice, and new media with a keen interest in hybrid and interdisciplinary projects. She has worked at the Institute of Puerto Rican Culture, El Museo del Barrio, Art in General, Socrates Sculpture Park, The Nathan Cummings Foundation, and Americas Society. Viera holds a MA in Curatorial Practice from the School of Visual Arts and is currently the Associate Curator at the National Academy of Design and a curatorial Resident at the Abrons Arts Center. Among Viera’s recent projects is River Rail Puerto Rico Issue, a publication with around 20 contributors which focuses on Puerto Rico’s water issues from a decolonial perspective.

  • CURATOR BUENOS AIRES

    Magdalena Testoni is an independent curator, artist and publisher based in Buenos Aires. She holds a BA in Literature from the University of Buenos Aires. Since 2018, she runs Paraguay Art Book Fair in Buenos Aires. She is also part of Microutopías, a publishing studio and art book fair in Montevideo, Uruguay, with which she participated in the lumbung of Publishers at documenta fifteen. Testoni co-directs El vómito, an independent art space in Buenos Aires dedicated to the generation of multiple experiences. From 2021 to 2022, she worked in the Public Programs of the Museum of Latinamerican Art in Buenos Aires (MALBA). Her work researches the link between the artist and society through affectional bonds and how this intervenes in the circulation of works of art. She also explores the boundaries between public and private exhibition spaces. She has made artistic works around the relationship between image and word and the questioning of linear thinking, from writing, sculpture and visual poetry.

CAREERS

INTERNSHIPS & INTERN-TO-HIRE

The Curatorial Program for Research offers both academic year and summer internship programs for college students. Internships are geared toward juniors, seniors, and graduate students. Working under the supervision of a department head, CPR Interns will obtain practical training in education and curatorial practices, and will assist with regular departmental duties that range from research and special projects to administrative tasks. For the benefit of the trainees, CPR Interns gain insight and learn about CPR's various programs, traveling exhibitions, international workshops, lectures and symposia, and other activities throughout the world. 

Our 2022-2023 academic year internship runs from September 6th 2022 to May 26th 2023. Curatorial intern is required to assist 20 hours/week (Thu-Sun 12pm-5pm, both at CPR² as well as remotely) and offers the unique opportunity of curating a 2-week summer show at CPR² during Summer 2023.

Our internships are unpaid. We offer a small travel stipend.

  • Candidate must be self-motivated, practical, intuitive and have a strong interest in the Contemporary Arts. He/she must be able to work remotely. Interns are required to commit to a minimum of 20 hours per week.

    He/she should have at least 2 years of university level education in Arts, Art History, Marketing, or Arts Administration majors. Candidate must have strong computer skills, and be organized and detail oriented. Applicants should have excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Knowledge of Mac Platform: Word, Excel, and Outlook is a must. Squarespace website knowledge is highly preferred.

  • CPR has a number of programs, and covers various expenses depending on the program:

    - Core Program (Nomadic Residency for Curators): We cover for flight, accommodation and/or meals. Occasionally we apply for travel stipends together with the selected participant.

    - Hello New York! (Artist Residency in New York City): We cover for tuition. Accommodation, transport and meals are not covered. Occasionally we apply for travel stipends together with the selected artists.

    - The Apartment (Artist Residency in Buenos Aires): We cover for flight and accommodation. Occasionally we apply for travel stipends together with the selected artists.

  • Our Programs feature an immersive and conceptually connected schedule of visits, and attendance to the complete length of the program is mandatory.
